If you've ever wanted to create captivating engraved portraits, look no further! Join instructor Todd Daniels to learn how to define the contours of a figure by combining line engraving techniques with portrait engraving methods. Utilize hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling techniques to create shade, form, and tonalities. You will discover the importance of negative space, line direction, and flow and how to use them in your work. Students will also learn how to create shapes for mapping tonal values and facial proportions and use their new skills to engrave a recognizable portrait. Seats for this course are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, but skill verification will be required before enrollment is finalized. After enrollment, a sales representative will contact prospective students with a link to upload three photos representative of the student's work. The GRS team will review these photos and finalize enrollment as long as the student's work shows capability at a minimum level. If the student's skill is not yet at the level needed to meet the demands of the course, they will be issued a refund for their deposit.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of at least an intermediate level engraving course.

Graver Sharpening Knowledge: Students should already know how to create parallel and traditional heels.

Other Skills Required: Familiarity with GRS Pneumatic tools and a microscope is essential in this fast paced class
