Fabricating & Engraving: Charm Necklace
$1,650.00

This course provides mid-level training focused on the essential skills used in fabricating and engraving handmade chain components. Students will create three different link sizes, learn how to cut, shape, and solder them into cohesive chain sections. Instruction will cover intermediate bright-cut engraving with an emphasis on scrolls, double scrolls, and engraving on non-standard shapes. Students will also learn how to form a bezel, set a turquoise cabochon, and attach jump rings securely to the back of bezel settings. The course includes hands-on practice in creating functional chain elements such as “S” hooks and dog bone clasps, as well as an introduction to welding jump rings for added structural integrity.

The main focus of this class is to allow students to go home with a personalized charm necklace that embodies their creativity. Participants will learn how to prepare and use the tools, execute clean soldered joints, develop consistent engraving cuts, and apply techniques effectively across various components. This course is intended for students who are comfortable with basic metalworking and engraving skills and are ready to expand their abilities to create complete, functional jewelry pieces.
