Students will learn soldering techniques, how to use a bezel block, pierce difficult-to-reach areas, make custom gravers for fabrication, set a round brilliant gemstone, and engrave their setting to make it truly unique. Matt specializes in custom jewelry that combines traditional fabrication, ornamental hand engraving, and advanced stone setting techniques. Prerequisites
This course will require both basic metalsmithing and intermediate engraving skills.
Graver Sharpening Knowledge:
90°, 105°, onglette, various flats
Other Skills Required:
Basic metalsmithing (basic soldering and forming, but I can really teach anyone how to do these basic steps if they are not familiar)
