Explore wax carving techniques through the process of creating five different pendant designs with Liam Powers. Each day will focus on a new design style from start to finish. Students will learn to sculpt wax blanks into nearly finished models, which can later be used to cast pieces that need only minimal cleanup before setting and finishing. A special highlight of the course is the chance to select and work with stones brought by Liam himself. You will choose the perfect stones to complement your final personal design of the week, which Liam will help you execute, adding a personal touch to your finished piece.
Participants will learn how to transfer designs to wax, set up and use the tools for each step of the carving process, remove and build up wax to create complex designs, create settings for stones, and techniques for interlocking elements.
