Metal Engraving
Flare Cut Firearms Engraving
$1,650.00

This course offers mid-level instruction on the core skills used in western engraving. Students will work in brass and steel to develop control, consistency, and tool handling. The focus of this class is to create a unique sculptural style, achieved by the use of a wide variety of gravers, sharpened for use in hard metal. This course also provides hands-on training and instruction in balancing negative and positive space, design transfer techniques, minimizing burs and rough edges when making wide, and deep cuts. Students will have the opportunity to engrave an aftermarket slide for a Glock pistol, designed to be fully compatible for installation on their personal firearm.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn, create, and use the tools, prepare gravers, ornamental hand engraving, and apply techniques consistently and effectively. This course is intended for students who are proficient in western engraving as well as creating common graver geometries.
