When two skilled craftsmen team up, you can expect a unique, hands-on experience that elevates your jewelry-making skills. Matthew Tuggle and Ben Bentvelzen will guide you through the fabrication and embellishment of a custom ring in this advanced-level, two-part workshop. During the first week, work with Matt to fabricate a sterling silver ring featuring a domed top with a pierced and engraved pattern. Additionally, you’ll craft a rounded, split-shank band for a distinctive and professional finish. In the second week, Ben will guide you through gemstone layout and stone setting techniques that enhance your design. Over ten days, you will complete a beautiful custom ring from start to finish, receiving expert guidance at every step. Don’t miss this opportunity to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece!

Custom hand fabricated silver ring

Prerequisites

Completion of a GRS Basic Course or instructor approval is required, as well as an understanding of proper tool sharpening and basic engraving techniques. Basic knowledge of soldering and sawing is necessary.

Some experience using a PowerHone (GraverHoneVS) and polishing gravers with a micromotor and rubber and diamond wheels.
