Metal Engraving
Flare Cutting
$1,495.00

This course will teach students how to achieve this unique, sculptural flare-cut style by combining bright-cut and single-point engraving. Instructor Diane Scalese will demonstrate how to use a variety of specially shaped and sharpened gravers to create this bold, three-dimensional style and sculpt the metal with flowing, elegant cuts. This versatile style allows for a wide variety of artistic expression for the engraver (or jeweler) that can be cut on almost any canvas from silver and gold to steel. Students will apply their new skills to cut a brass pendant, a handmade brass money clip, and a brass lighter.
