Master Engraver Layne Zuelke will take students through a fast-paced week of challenging engraving techniques, focused on rings. With decades at the bench working with jewelry, Layne has developed methods and tools to make working in these tiny spaces easier. This class is ideal for artists that are very proficient in sharpening and engraving but are ready to take their work to a new level. Projects will include everything from basic Victorian styles on tiny 1.5-2 mm rings up to semi-sculpted scrolls on a wide band.

With decades at the bench working with jewelry, Layne has developed methods and tools to make working in these tiny spaces easier. This class is ideal for artists that are very proficient in sharpening and engraving but are ready to take their work to a new level. Prerequisites
Completion of a GRS Basic Engraving course or instructor approval is required, as well as an understanding of proper tool sharpening and basic bright cutting techniques.
